"Doing business without advertising is like winking at |
THE INTERNET SETS YOU FREEInternet connection enables me to be in contact and interact with anyone, anywhere 24 hours a day. I now live in one of the remotest places in Britain on the edge of the vast Kielder Forest in Northumberland in the Northumberland National Park. Some years ago we left Newcastle and headed for the hills. Life is sublime here. Glorious wildlife - in one of the last refuges of the red squirrel - and air as invigorating as chilled Dom Perignon. Soaring buzzards float effortlessly over our heads, circling higher and higher, almost to the top of the dizzying sky. And all in a community where everyone knows your name. I have worked in the advertising, PR, marketing and, latterly, Internet professions for many years. Vast experience was accumulated from handling many household names and I became a Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing. The brain is as active as ever and I have a store of knowledge of what works and what doesn't. Been there, done that. Still like doing it.
EXPERIENCE And for the oldies: British Steel, Jackson the Tailor, Wengers, John Players, Co-op Cleaners, Walter Willson, Vaux Breweries, Minories, Clarke Chapman, Thor, Access and Dizzy's. My new life in the country is glorious but I still enjoy my work. To whit, I am providing consultancy services to some new clients. These include Kielder Organic Meats, Ridley's Fish & Game, The Falstone Border Shepherds' Show (Pro Bono), Ghost Furniture, Property Transaction Services, MPC Building, Falstone Barns, VARC (Visual Arts in Rural Communities) and Triscan Systems.
